Tips from Trinity
This is the question we get on more doorsteps than any other, and it's the one most people get answered wrong β usually by somebody trying to scare them, one direction or the other. So here it is straight.
STORM CLAIMS CAN'T SINGLE YOU OUT. Wind, hail, storm damage β acts of God. Texas rules protect your premium from being picked out individually for that kind of claim. You are not punished for filing after a storm.
WHAT ACTUALLY MOVES YOUR RATE IS THE STORM ITSELF. When hail rolls through North Texas, everybody's rates tend to go up after β whether you file or not. So the question we always put back to a homeowner is the honest one: are you going to pay for a damaged roof out of pocket, and take the rate bump anyway?
ASSESS FIRST. COLLECT NEVER, ON DAY ONE. The first thing we do is get on the roof and document what we find with photos β not talk deductibles. You find out honestly whether you have a claim, a repair, or nothing at all. The inspection is free and it comes first.
AND GET A SECOND OPINION IF YOU'RE UNSURE. Insurance companies deny and lowball every day. We've had claims approved after multiple denials, because we know what the insurance company needs to see and we don't quit at the first "no." If your first inspection was right, we'll tell you that too.
Twice-a-year checks are the rule in North Texas β once after hail season, once before winter. It's how a repair stays a repair. Book your free ten-minute inspection at (469) 202-4892.
